Kelly White, MA, LMHC
Philosophy and Approach
Serves (ages 16+) Individuals
My focus in counseling is to uncover and celebrate a person’s strengths, look toward solutions instead of dwelling on problems, and facilitate lasting change. It is my belief that each person has incredible resilience and wisdom and holds the ability to change within them. In my work with people I incorporate mindfulness, internalized oppression, cognitive-behavioral, motivational interviewing, and strength-based modalities. My education and experience allow me to work with a variety of people, including those dealing with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, relational distress, and adjustment disorders, among others.
Experience and Education
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LH60650496) in the state of Washington and received a Master of Arts in Counseling from Antioch University. I have undertaken additional training in Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, and Postmodern Brief Therapies. My work experience includes inpatient chemical dependency treatment centers and community mental health settings. I have experience with and welcome clients from all backgrounds regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, race, religious affiliation and/or sexual orientation.
I am a preferred provider with Regence, United Behavioral Health, First Choice, Premera, Kaiser Permanente (KFHP), and Aetna. Please call for inquiries regarding additional insurance plans.
