ABOUT

I provide counseling to adults, teens and couples from various backgrounds and cultures experiencing problems including depression, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem and relationship issues. As a new parent, I also have a special interest in perinatal/postpartum depression and anxiety.  I am currently seeking certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International.

Working together, we will explore your concerns and identify your strengths in order to develop a course of treatment that is supportive and empowering.  As a counselor, you can expect me to be curious, open, and accepting while also challenging. I am here to hold space for you to be heard and to provide you with feedback and tools to help take on your circumstances.

Individual Therapy

My philosophy is rooted in empathy, collaboration and respect. My approach is outcome driven. Together, we will develop goals and practice skills to help meet those goals. Over the course of therapy, we may explore areas such as personal values, impacts of systems and institutions, past experiences and important relationships. The primary orientations I draw from include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Narrative Therapy.

Couples Therapy

I provide an environment where understanding and communication can occur. It is important that each person feel respected and heard. Frequently, we will use our sessions to practice new skills, and I will assign homework to practice outside of therapy sessions.

I have received Gottman Method Couples Therapy training (Levels I and II). I use this framework to support couples to become better friends, manage conflict, and create ways to support each other’s hopes for the future.
