ABOUT

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate my philosophy and approach to therapy are simple. We come to therapy experiencing a wide range of issues and emotional states. Everyone’s story and experience have left them with insights and impacts that are worthy of taking up space. Therapy can be the space where that is held, solely for you. Together, through a collaborative approach to this work, we can meet your goals and get you where you want to be.

My journey into the world of therapy began as a client and allowed me to work through many internal and life challenges. Through that work, I was able to see and create sustainable and lasting change. I want to give my clients what was so freely given to me. My approach to therapy is rooted in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative Therapy, helping individuals, couples, and families. In addition, I draw on a wide range of models and resources to support my clients on their therapeutic journey. Therapy is hard work, but can also be a lot of fun. Together, we can explore your emotions with curiosity, identify and restructure parts, or reauthor a new story to tell. I put my clients first and want to create a space where you feel safe, connected, and meaningful. It is an honor to be let into your lives and to support you on your journeys.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in a wide range of fields, building a unique skill set grounded in lived experience that led me to this field. In the first half of my career, I worked in addiction treatment. I gained skills in group management, addiction-related issues, family work, and reconciliation, all while helping clients manage day-to-day stressors and concerns. In addition, I have worked in youth/teen education and development. I worked first at the City of Shoreline teen center as a member of their staff. Then I worked as a school counselor for middle and high school students in Orange County. This work gave me insight into helping my clients navigate complex systems and how to empower them to make change. If you want to make a change, need help navigating an aspect of your life, or are hoping for new insights, therapy is waiting.

I look forward to holding space for you.

ABOUT

I come to this work with the understanding that healing begins when we feel safe enough to turn toward our emotions and relationships. It takes courage to be vulnerable and strength to stay curious. Reaching out for support is often the hardest step and, also the first toward meaningful change. I am honored to walk alongside you on your journey of self-realization, self-actualization, and personal evolution.

My work is grounded in systemic theories such as Attachment, Polyvagal, and Bowen Family Systems, allowing me to see individuals, couples, and families within the broader context of their lived experiences. I specialize in supporting clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional and behavioral dysregulation, and neurodivergence, including ADHD, executive functioning challenges, learning differences, and autism spectrum conditions, particularly the Pathological Demand Avoidance profile.

In individual and family therapy, I help clients connect with their inner strength, cultivate emotional resilience, and reclaim a sense of agency as they face life transitions, challenges, and losses. With couples, I help partners strengthen communication, rebuild trust after infidelity, and deepen connection through discernment counseling, relational and marriage counseling, and parenting or co-parenting support.

As a bilingual (English and Chinese) and BIPOC therapist, I am committed to culturally responsive care for clients navigating immigration and acculturation stress, multicultural and intergenerational relationships, Third Culture Kid or Adult experiences, and BIPOC identity work. While our past shapes us, it does not define us. Together, we can make sense of your journey, uncover new paths, and move toward greater authenticity, balance, and fulfillment.

My clinical training encompasses the following treatment modalities:

Lifespan Integration Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Method (Level I), Solution-Focused Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Non-Violent Communication, and mindfulness and somatic

ABOUT

You may be feeling anxious, down, or extremely overwhelmed. Maybe you’re experiencing a transition like navigating a chronic illness, exploring your identity, or finding your way through a family or school change. All of these things and more can cause us to feel confused, distressed, and disconnected from ourselves, unsure how to move forward and live a life we can love. In therapy, my goals are to highlight your strengths as well as create space that allows you to slow down and reconnect with your embodied wisdom and various parts of yourself.

I most often see clients in middle school and older who are experiencing symptoms related to anxiety and depression, grief/loss, identity, life transitions, stress, and trauma. As a Marriage & Family Therapist Associate, I have additional training in and love seeing couples, families, friendships, polycules, and other relationships for therapy. I have lived experience as a chronically ill and queer person and enjoy seeing clients who are also in these communities.

I specialize in using somatic therapy techniques to help clients not only address current problems but also build skills to address challenges that arise down the road. Sometimes, I may use additional interventions or ideas from other theories, like Bowenian Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Viktor Frankl’s Logotherapy (existential therapy). I may incorporate art, games, and yoga into therapy, if it is interesting to you. I often name systems of oppression such as ableism, homophobia, misogyny, racism, transphobia, and more in therapy to acknowledge harm they cause. I use a slightly different approach for every client in order to help you make the changes you want and need in your life.

Who I am as a therapist is also informed by who I am as a person. I identify as white, bisexual, chronically ill/dynamically disabled, female and nonbinary, and as a trauma survivor.

ABOUT

Healing begins with self-compassion. So often, we are our own harshest critics, carrying shame, anxiety, and self-doubt that keep us stuck in painful cycles. I view therapy as a collaborative, respectful, and grounding space where you can practice meeting yourself with curiosity instead of judgment. Together we will explore the thoughts, emotions, and experiences that have shaped you and develop practical knowledge and skills to navigate life’s challenges with greater ease.

True transformation happens when we bring both the mind and body into the therapy process while also acknowledging the larger systems that shape our lives. This means tuning into your body—learning how emotions show up physically and finding ways to regulate your nervous system, release stress, and reconnect with a sense of safety. It also means taking a look at the stories you carry—about yourself, your relationships, and the world—and exploring whether they truly serve you. We’ll work together to reshape unhelpful stories in a way that reflects your values and strengths. I recognize that family dynamics, community influences, and societal pressures all play a role in our well-being, so these dynamics will be addressed throughout our work together as well.

My therapeutic approach stems from Humanistic Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MB-CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, Somatic Therapies, and Narrative Therapy.

ABOUT

Change begins with the decision to turn toward our emotions and the people who matter to us, even when it feels vulnerable or uncertain. When we can make sense of what we feel and express it in a way that invites connection rather than disconnection, we create space for healing and deeper intimacy. Therapy is a dynamic, collaborative process where we explore your experiences, emotions, and interactional patterns to support meaningful change. I approach this work with compassion and curiosity, always looking for the strengths and resilience within the people I work with. I also strive to balance humor and playfulness with deep reverence for the space needed to process pain and grief, believing that healing happens not only through insight but also through felt experiences of safety, emotional connection, and responsiveness in relationships. My goal is to create an environment where you feel supported, seen, and empowered—both individually and in your relationships.

My work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a deeply relational and experiential model that helps individuals, couples, and families transform negative patterns and create stronger emotional bonds. Because growth happens in the present moment, I focus on what’s being felt and expressed in real time, helping clients experience and engage with their inner world in new ways that foster deeper attunement. To support this work, I also integrate elements of Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Structural Family Therapy, drawing on each to help clients reauthor their stories, clarify values, and understand how relational patterns have been shaped by broader systems. These perspectives help expand awareness and create new possibilities for connection, making space for lasting transformation.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade working in youth and teen development, overseeing a teen center, facilitating leadership and music programs, and creating workshops on topics like healthy relationships and job readiness. These experiences deepened my appreciation for the power of connection, self-expression, and community in fostering growth and resilience—values that continue to shape my work with clients today.

I’m happy you’ve decided on taking the adventure of pursuing life fulfillment. It’s an adventure that I started myself in a gap year before college, and it has led me on a decade of world travels and academic pursuits on seeking to understand the balance between personal authenticity and fitting in. This is the biggest concept I offer to you, which is how to embrace your own needs, while also having room for enhancing the relationships around you.

I’m an eclectic therapist, which means I utilize different therapeutic models depending on specific needs of clients. I have been trained in a variety of modalities including self-esteem training, cognitive anxiety control, sex therapy, trauma healing, life transition assistance, depression mitigation, and much more. It’s paramount you have what fits you best, so I take it as my first priority to begin matching you to what best can assist you.

Many fear the mental health journey, but I fear a life of being on the run from it. When we better ourselves it enhances life for us and all those around us. I look forward to talking with you soon.

ABOUT

I come to this work as someone who has been profoundly and positively affected by the power of therapy, and know firsthand how much courage it takes to seek support. I put great emphasis on creating an organic space that will allow you to feel comfortable to begin this fruitful process of self-exploration. I view therapy as a collaborative process and want to honor your unique identity by understanding you within the context of your life. We will address your presenting concerns, while seeking to understand them within the greater framework of your personal history and development. I gravitate towards working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief, as well as clients seeking guidance with life transitions and self-actualization.

My therapeutic approach is eclectic and rooted in humanistic psychology. I view health as a dynamic interplay between mind and body and will utilize mindfulness and somatic practices in our sessions, a perspective enriched by my undergraduate studies in biology. This holistic approach underscores the importance of self-care, a vital element that I will emphasize throughout our time together.

Psychotherapy works because it creates changes in brain function, so we will literally be rewiring your brain to achieve your desired outcome. I believe in providing as much psychoeducation as possible in session, and also like to assign homework and give other applicable recommendations.

I look forward to meeting you.

ABOUT

The quality of our lives is deeply connected to the quality of our relationships—with others and ourselves. As a relationally based therapist, I help clients understand and change challenging relationship patterns while developing more compassionate ways of connecting. I approach therapy as a collaborative process and work with clients to identify meaningful goals that support positive change. I provide a curious, non-judgmental space to explore and put into action the changes clients want to create in their lives.

Who I Work With

  • Navigating Family Complexity: Supporting adult children of emotionally immature parents in setting boundaries and breaking old reactive cycles.
  • Men’s Mental Health: Providing a practical, focused space for men to address self-confidence, anxiety, and depression.

My Approach

I specialize in supporting individuals navigating the “invisible” wounds of their past and the complexities of their present. My focus includes:

  • Somatic & Mindfulness Practices: Using body-based awareness to manage stress and find internal calm.
  • Parts Work & Gestalt: Exploring the different “parts” of your personality (akin to IFS – Internal Family Systems) to foster internal harmony.
  • Core Belief Transformation: Identifying and reshaping the deep-seated “inner scripts” and negative beliefs that drive self-doubt.

ABOUT

I believe attachment and relationships are at the foundation of all that is most meaningful and also most painful, and that all of us can continue to build healthier connections and ways of relating throughout our lives. I also believe that finding, or making, meaning is an essential aspect of living a satisfying and fulfilling life. I work from an integrated approach combining elements of person-centered, existential, psychodynamic, and other schools of thought. While sometimes learning specific tools can be useful, I primarily see my role as supporting the people that I work with in creating their own path through the places that are hard or painful.

I have extensive experience working within the healthcare system and can help those navigating it’s complexities. I have supported those who are being treated for cancer, as well as families and loved ones of those diagnosed with cancer, and also work with those who live with other chronic conditions, those in a caregiving role, and people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and other concerns. I also have experience working with people who have been incarcerated and involved in the carceral system, and with people who have a history of religious harm or trauma.

I understand that the fit between client and therapist is one of the most important factors to determine outcomes and look forward to meeting you to explore working together.

Hello, I’m Kelsey Schulman (they/them).  I received my Masters in Social Work from The University of Washington in 2018 specializing in mental health and have worked in a variety of community mental health and non-profit settings since 2014. My roles have included psychotherapist, group healing facilitator, and advocate working with survivors of trauma of all identities from emerging adults up to older adults. I’m passionate about liberation for all people, and I believe therapy is a place to work towards becoming more free.

I use an eclectic approach that integrates modalities such as DBT, ACT, Somatics, Mindfulness and EMDR to address the various challenges that clients face throughout their lifespan. I enjoy bringing a sense playfulness and using humor (when appropriate) in my work as we plant seeds of change and cultivate growth as a team. I am most passionate about working with the LGBTQIA community, specifically with queer and trans clients.

I believe that therapy is a co-created space where healing takes place. I use a clinical approach that is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and client-centered to support you in building the life you wish to live. I approach each client with warmth and positive regard as we work together to challenge patterns that are no longer serving you and to deepen your well of joy.

Through an anti-oppressive framework I offer a space to explore life’s up’s and downs by building on each person’s inherent resilience’s and resources to create lasting change. I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief and loss, major life transitions, ADHD, Autism, PTSD, and intergenerational trauma and trauma from living in racialized capitalism and harm from systems of oppression. I also enjoy working with polyamorous clients. I am experienced in working with people from a diverse religious, ethnic, racial, socioeconomic backgrounds and clients from all sexual orientations and gender identities.

When not working as a therapist, I enjoy tide pooling, camping, activism, dancing, and sharing food with loved ones.

I look forward to hearing from you. Supporting people to heal is truly an honor and a joy!

ABOUT

The only person you will spend every single day of your life with is yourself. Meaning that you will be better off if you come to know, accept and eventually love that person.

As a therapist, my approach functions through the lens of learning to understand ourselves and our own unique needs. This often involves the process of undoing how unfairly we’ve learned to treat ourselves, releasing our reliance on maladaptive coping mechanisms and moving on from our previously needed survival strategies. These ways of existing can stem from how we’ve been treated by others in the past or perhaps from implicit messaging from cultural, religious or societal marginalization and expectations. The work we do in therapy enables us to create the life we’ve always desired and deserved.

I conceptualize my therapy process with the following metaphor: As the therapist, I am in the front passenger seat of a car with you, and you are behind the wheel. As a passenger, I offer you assistance with reading the map and providing directions, but it’s up to you, the driver, to choose the turns you’ll take, and ultimately, the destination.

I operate within a framework that includes: psychodynamic transactional analysis (TA), somatic experiencing, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and emotionally-focused therapy (EFT).

In my work in community mental health for the past two years, I have come to learn the importance of adaptability and meeting my clients where they are at. I have experience working with unresolved and complex trauma, acute post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), adjustment difficulties following post-traumatic stress (PTS), grief, LGBTQAI+ community, relational issues, the impacts of systemic racial oppression, chronic depression and suicidal ideation/self-harm, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. A humanistic approach and client-centered care are at the core of my therapeutic relationship with all of my clients.

ABOUT

Long before I became a therapist, mental health has been an important part of my life. It is central to who we are as individuals and promotes our physical well-being. Having a safe, trusting space to work through life’s challenges is invaluable, and it is what I aim to provide as a clinician.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from various theoretical orientations and techniques tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each client. I incorporate elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, as well as techniques from mindfulness-based approaches to cultivate present-moment awareness and acceptance.

Central to my approach is the importance of creating a supportive and empowering therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, understood, and validated. I believe in equipping clients with practical skills and strategies to cope with challenges, navigate life transitions, and cultivate greater self-awareness and resilience. Ultimately, my goal as a therapist is to facilitate growth, healing, and personal transformation in collaboration with my clients.

Outside of my work as a therapist, I am continuing my education at Yale University to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Running, baking desserts, and reading physical copies of books are a few of my favorite hobbies. I am also a proud foster cat mom and regularly volunteer with my local feline shelter.

I am looking forward to meeting you and working towards your goals together!

ABOUT

Hello, I’m Arren (zie/zer, they/them pronouns). Life can throw some wild stuff at us, and in this modern world, we often get stuck in our heads or disconnected from our bodies and desires, losing sight of what we truly want in life. The wisdom we seek is already within our bodies. My goal is to create a space for you to tap into your inner wisdom, listen, reconnect with your body and desires, and find the path that resonates with you. Healing takes many forms, and psychotherapy can help us make sense of our experiences and integrate them into our lives.

I specialize in working with young people and adults who have experienced trauma, grief, loss, religious trauma, anxiety, and depression. Additionally, I have experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and those experiencing gender dysphoria or seeking gender-affirming surgery. As a social worker, I believe it is important to acknowledge and name systemic oppressions such as racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, classism, and capitalism, and how they intersect to cause harm daily.

I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (a mindfulness and values-based practice), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), hypnotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness practices. The therapy world is constantly evolving, offering new healing modalities such as neurofeedback, yoga, somatic, psychodrama, Internal Family Systems, and more. I am trained in EMDR and clinical hypnosis and I am happy to offer sessions for EMDR and/or hypnosis sessions in addition to work with a primary therapist. My philosophy is to explore what resonates with you and utilize what works best for your healing journey. I am excited to accompany you on this journey as we rediscover what brings you back to yourself, ignites your soul, and allows you to heal.

My lived experience informs my practice. I identify as White, queer, genderqueer/nonbinary, bisexual, have lived as polyamorous for over 12 years, am a religious/cult survivor, and have received gender affirming care and surgery.

I am particularly interested in helping teens manage anxiety and enhance their social skills, academic performance, and sports performance, as well as supporting adults in addressing anxiety, depression, relationship skills, work performance, and career transitions.

ABOUT

I work with individual adults who are searching for how to live well, trust themselves, and identify and express their authentic self. Rather than viewing emotions as a problem to be solved, my approach involves exploring and understanding emotions in a way that is revealing and liberating. I have a particular interest in working with people who are striving to increase meaning and purpose in their lives, as well as clients facing life transitions, challenges of parenthood, interpersonal relationship conflict, and issues of mid-life.

Outside of clinical work, I enjoy exploring nature and art with my elementary school aged child and am an adult learner of the violin.

ABOUT

My name is Kate, and I am committed to helping adults and older adolescents (16+) who are feeling unhappy or stuck to navigate a path forward. I work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, disordered eating, infertility, pregnancy and becoming a new parent.

My approach to therapy is relational, psychodynamic, and client-centered. I believe that individuals can move forward in their own lives by understanding the inner workings of their current and past relationships, including the relationship between client and therapist. Research shows that an authentic and trusting relationship between therapist and client is the most important predictor of successful outcomes. My approach to therapy is client-centered, which means that I believe that you are the expert of your life and circumstances. You set the pace of therapy, and we work together to create a safe, trusting, and nonjudgmental space for us to work together to reach your goals.

Therapy is a second career for me. I returned to graduate school because I am passionate about helping people, and I believe deeply in the therapeutic process.

I appreciate that seeking help takes courage. Congratulations on taking this first step.

ABOUT

I think of therapy as a journey. On this journey, I am your guide but you determine the pace, how far you want to go and, most importantly, where you want to go. If your goals are crystal clear, my job is to keep you moving forward. If your goals are unclear, and you just know something must change, my job is to help you choose the path that calls to you. In all cases, I am responsible for keeping the journey safe and helping you identify and remove obstacles that stand in the way.

There are three core beliefs that guide my philosophy. First, within each of us lives our truest self, which is unchangeable by life’s challenges. It is the source of our creativity, calm, curiosity and courage. Second, the need for human connection is our most essential instinct and is tied to our need for safety and belonging. And finally, to survive in this world, we often unconsciously adopt patterns and behaviors to secure and maintain this connection. However, these patterns and behaviors, which make perfect sense in the context of our lived experience, can be inconsistent with our deepest sense of who we are, and we can lose touch with our authentic self.

On our journey together, my job is to create a safe, accepting space where we can explore your outer and inner world and identify which patterns and behaviors still serve you, and which don’t. Together we will find the space that will allow you to make intentional choices aligned with your truest self and not driven by habit. I believe the best answers to the questions we will face will come from your inner knowledge, including your values, dreams and deepest sense of who you are.

I am a clinical social worker and have worked with individuals, couples and families in inpatient and outpatient environments, and completed post-graduate family therapy training. My approach is informed primarily by the Internal Family Systems model and supplemented by Attachment Theory, Somatics, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Psychodynamic Theory and Neuroscience, among others.

ABOUT

My approach to counseling is integrative and humanistic where I see that each individual’s perspective is addressed in order to best support their unique process. I believe that each person has their own inner resources for healing and I provide support and guidance in helping individuals to access their own innate wisdom.

As an Existential therapist, I believe that counseling is a process of self-development and self-actualization. I work with issues presented from the perspective of awareness to be able to accept what is, rather than viewing presenting issues as a health ‘problem’ or ‘illness’. Our work will be a process of investigation, discovery, and clarification to find meaning and motivation to carry on. I will provide support in strengthening your own inner resoluteness to healing through self-knowledge.

Having worked in many facets of mental health, I have experience working with people from a diverse array of backgrounds and experiences. I have worked in community mental health, college setting, and hospice grief counseling with individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, schizophrenia, bipolar, and schizoaffective disorder. Through my experience as a grief counselor, I am drawn to work with individuals experiencing grief and loss as well as individuals seeking guidance in transitions and loneliness.

I have studied and worked as a theater and movement artist. I utilize somatic psychotherapy where mind, body, spirit, and emotions are creatively addressed in the healing process.

I have investigated spiritual paths including Christianity, Hinduism, and Buddhism. My main path has been in Japanese Zen having trained in Japan for many years. I enjoy working with clients with diverse spiritual and religious beliefs, supporting each individual’s own unique spiritual path and how it supports their well-being.

I am personally inspired by my own life goal in the art of living a deeply meaningful human life.

ABOUT

My goal with therapy is to help you access your most authentic self by helping you explore and identify the negative thought patterns and beliefs present in your life that are causing you to feel stuck. As a therapist, my role is to create a safe space so that you feel comfortable bringing your full self into the therapy session without fears of being judged. We will collaborate to help you identify your own goals and work to overcome obstacles that come your way. You will learn the skills needed to navigate challenges in life successfully. This process will enable you to gain valuable insights about yourself and develop the skills necessary to cultivate your best self.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, client-centered, and strengths-based. I believe that clients are the experts of their own lived experiences. I use person-in-environment and anti-oppression theoretical approaches to understand better how different components of clients’ social identities and personalities intersect with micro, mezzo, and macro environments to influence personal identity and emotional growth as well as impact psychosocial functioning.

I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness practice, humanistic therapy, positive psychology, and existential therapy to tailor our work together to fit your unique needs and goals. Together, you and I work as a team, and I continually solicit feedback to ensure we are meeting your identified needs and goals.

I am a licensed independent clinical social worker in Washington State (LW 61006984). I provide individual therapy to adults 18+ and older adults 65+ presenting with a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, traumatic brain injuries, work-related stress, self-esteem, and life transitions.

I graduated in 2016 with a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Washington. Since then, I have worked as a mental health case manager and intake specialist at a non-profit in the Seattle area, serving clients living with persistent mental illnesses, traumatic brain injuries, and developmental and intellectual disabilities. I also have experience working with LGBTQ* individuals, college students, hospice patients, and foster children.

When I’m not providing therapy, I enjoy hiking, swimming, playing badminton, cooking vegetarian meals, gardening and reading.

ABOUT

My goal is to create a safe space where you can share openly about your story: your fears, worries, sadness, loss, and trauma as well as your joys, achievements, strengths, resourcefulness, and wisdom. You deserve to feel seen and heard without judgment. You have the capacity to change. Together, we will explore your story, using methods and skills appropriate to your personalized goals.

My style of therapy is person-centered, strengths-based, compassionate and encouraging. I incorporate elements of ACT, CBT, Attachment Theory, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Self-Compassion into my practice, all with a trauma-informed lens. Our work together will be collaborative. I offer foundational tools and frameworks, and seek to empower your own agency and decision-making.

I specialize in working with adult individuals experiencing anxiety, ADHD, self-esteem issues, relationship challenges, stress, and life transitions (especially those in “Quarterlife”). As a social worker, I also value working with folks in various helping professions, who are often experiencing secondary trauma and burnout.

I’ve worked in social services since 2014, in roles related to advocacy, case management, child & family therapy, crisis intervention, safety planning, and therapeutic support. I have prior experience working with anxiety, depression, PTSD, suicidality, and substance use. After receiving my MSW (2016), I worked for two years at a Seattle non-profit serving adult survivors of commercial sexual exploitation. I then worked at an inpatient psychiatric hospital providing crisis and stabilization services prior to joining the team at Envision in the summer of 2020.

It is a privilege for me to enter into this space with you, and I do not take it lightly. I look forward to journeying alongside you, as we explore your story, and seek to write the next chapter.

ABOUT

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, and a certified Substance Use Disorder Professional. I have experience working in outpatient, residential, and inpatient behavioral health programs providing a range of services, including substance use treatment, co-occurring disorder treatment, and crisis care for acute mental illness. After completing my education and training as a therapist, I began my pursuit of a Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology. I am currently a doctoral candidate and close to completion of the program.

My counseling approach is based on my belief that we all strive for balance and fulfillment in our lives and crave strong connections with others. When we are faced with certain events such as stress, loss, trauma, or conflicts in our relationships, we may experience significant emotional distress as we struggle to cope. At times, we may respond in ways that are ineffective or even destructive as we attempt to find solutions or address our emotional pain. These responses are often shaped by past experiences and we can become “stuck” in these dysfunctional ways of responding. While our past can inform our future, it does not need to define it. We are the creator of our own story and I believe we are all capable and deserving of finding meaning and satisfaction in our lives.

My role is to support clients in their journey toward self-discovery, personal growth, and life fulfillment. By providing a safe space and collaborative therapeutic environment, I hope to empower clients to utilize their inner strengths to navigate challenging life events and strengthen personal relationships. My approach is individualized and is informed by attachment theory, family systems theory, and humanistic principles. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and provide therapy that is person-centered, emotion-focused, and trauma-informed. Techniques used may include psychoeducation, experiential exercises, and skill building.

ABOUT

As a licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, I provide therapy services to individuals and couples. I utilize a holistic strength-based approach. Treatment is solution focused and often brief in nature (8-10 sessions).

I believe that clients are the experts of their lives. I work with clients in seeking to clarify goals and identify solutions utilizing the client’s own internal strengths and resources.  Together we aim to achieve optimum functioning of mind, body, and environment.  Topics frequently addressed include anxiety, depression, burnout in the workplace, self-esteem, relationship issues, irritation, and feeling stuck.

Working from the values of strength-based and positive psychology, we can identify how past experiences have contributed to feelings of anxiety, depression, and “stuckness”, but also to resilience, resourcefulness, and strength of character. My counseling modalities include Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Person-Centered, Humanistic, and Psychodynamic therapies.

I graduated from Bastyr University with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology. Bastyr is a pioneer in natural medicine and at the forefront of developing the natural health arts and sciences. I carry the core principals of holism, mindfulness, and patient-centered care with me into every session.

People who choose therapy have one thing in common: they want things to be better. Through our work together, we can fully understand what that means. Let’s get started!

My approach to therapy is client centered, strength based, systemic, collaborative, and creative. I believe people are innately good and are driven to become more authentic, as well as to feel a sense of wholeness. As an Art Therapist my approach is to utilize the creative process to help in enhancing or restoring your sense of wellness. I aim to assist you in understanding yourself, and the world around you, as well as facilitate a space to understand how your experiences have helped to make you who are. I believe art is for everyone and can be a powerful tool to gain access to information about ourselves that words may not. I also acknowledge not everyone is comfortable engaging in art, and provide an interdisciplinary approach throughout the therapeutic process. This approach includes existential, attachment-based, cognitive behavioral, family systems, and mindfulness-based therapies.

About

With 20+ years of experience in mental, emotional and behavioral health services, I specialize in counseling those with the desire to change their behavior for a more fulfilling life. As a Marriage & Family Therapist with my Masters in Addiction counseling I rely on the partnership within therapy to create a space for growth, goal achievement and peace within. This includes adolescents, couples & families, Breast Cancer survivors and clients working with schools and community systems. I have extensive experience providing therapeutic support to adolescents and adults whose behaviors are no longer benefitting them or those around them.

My approach is drawn from Solution Oriented therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Survivor and Life skills with trauma focused interventions. I am an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) candidate that believes we can move through trauma to a life with happiness, balance and authenticity.

In the cases of community teams, I view the experience of working with families/caregivers and the systems that touch them as opportunities to collaborate and partner on the best plan possible for the biggest outcomes.

My work is collaborative, holistic, and strength-based. My approach to therapy is client-focused with an emphasis on including the whole system when defining the problem that may bring you to therapy. My work is individually tailored to meet the needs of the client/s, which means that the methods/theories I include in our sessions will be based on what best serves your personality and needs.
